Ektron CMS and bespoke development solutions
Headland were appointed to build the new Law Society
website.
The solution combined a heavily customised Ektron CMS
installation coupled with a number of bespoke developments to
maximise the delivery of content to the Society's members and the
public. It also provides a strong platform upon which the Law
Society can implement a number of adventurous future releases they
have planned.
The process began with a series of detailed workshops. These
involved key technical and editorial staff to define the exact set
of requirements and functionality that were required. Working in
partnership with Global Beach who supplied the design templates our
development team built all of the customisations needed to deliver
the features. Adopting an agile approach ensured that there was
continuous delivery, with showcases at key intervals to give the
Society the opportunity to review development.
We also helped to streamline the migration of content by
devising a custom solution to handle the import of hundreds of
pages and news items from the existing CMS into the Ektron
system.
Prior to launch headland ran training sessions for the content
managers and the 2nd line support analysts to ensure they have a
full understanding of the solution.
